Graphics- Day 3

Present: My future self

Hole punching

 Lines
 Patterns

Mixing
 Light box

I'm really happy with the final outcome of my canvas exhibition poster, I liked the process through the start to the finish I believe I have learnt and experimented in different areas such as type, collage and so on. This task has allowed me to develop on my typography skills. I didn't find any of the tasks challenging but more experimental and new.

Overall of the exploratory stage I have looked into different areas of the art and design fields such as graphics, lens based media, fashion and textiles and 3DD I enjoyed each and every tasks. I've used programs such as indesign and illustrator that I've never used before and found it easy to adapt to. Every design field has given me new experiences and a taste of the design area. On top of that its my first time using blogger and blogging about my work which that was fun and interesting to write about my work every week and to also use blogger as well.

Graphics- Day 2

Words

I created experiments using shapes, lines, colours to create alphabet letters, then in the afternoon I played around with words mainly in a free layout style. I really enjoyed the task of creating alphabet words with any material or medium, which allowed me to explore a new wide range of mark making techniques.

Graphics- Day 1

Faces: Myself and others

Drawn standing up, not taking the pen
Drawn by mouth                                        off the paper

Drawn left handed                                               Drawn eyes closed

I enjoyed the warm-up task of sketching using different techniques which allowed me to work more carefree and play around more. I drew an ear afterwards in a large scale using graphite pencil I used this to create patterns and marks.

Collage

Collage making task was interesting because I got to play around with words/letters and facial features putting them into different layout presentations. I discovered myself liking to use black and white rather than colour while creating different ranges of collages.

3DDesign- Day3

Constructing a bridge

In a group we constructed a 1:1 scale bridge attaching it from one end of the table to the other and only touching the floor at two points using: 30 bamboo sticks, 10 cardboard's, elastic bands and a tape. I really enjoyed this task, we worked as a team setting out individual duties so that everyone has a part so someone will be taking the photographs of the process, tapping together the bamboo sticks, attaching the starting points of the bridge and so on. I really liked fact that the bridge had some geometrical shapes to it making it engaging to the audience. There wasn't major challenges that we came across while making the bridge.

3DDesign- Day 2

constructing ball holders using spaghetti

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3
Each step showing how built upon the to make it hold three balls at the same time, using only a maximum of 20 spaghetti's and a hot glue gun. To do this I made some sketches in my book looking into shapes, letters and lines, but it didn't really turn out as my sketches because the spaghetti's we're too fragile which made the task challenging, but I knew the basis of my structure which was its shape so then I arranged the spaghetti's to create my final ball holder.

Protecting

The final part of this task was to cover and protect the structure that I made using only one A1 sheet and two A3 sheets, first of all I thought of the spaghetti parts that we're spiking out so I covered them, then I made a paper wall in the shape inspired from a fan (with its zig-zag pattern) thinking that this will protect the sides better than just a plain surfaced paper cover the interior. I then stuffed the inner area with the left over paper, placing it in placed which could get damaged the most. Also I designed the exterior of my protector adding windows and a door to it, then I took photos of it using the light to scale up the structure by creating shadows on the white background and displaying little human figures next to it.
