FMP-exhibitions

My intention is to create a theatre space for the community to use and visit, this is because I believe that we need more places for people to go for entertainment and interaction, which would develop our cultural knowledge and art views. I look forward to design a space with multipurpose uses such as with a terrace, cafe/bar with a performance stage. I’m hoping to visit existing theatrical spaces and exhibitions for an insight and as my one of my research sources in order  to see how people use the space, what kind of feelings or moods it creates within people and what draws their attention for them to visit the show or theatre and to make it interactive. This will also be a stage for them to show their own talent, experience and explore new things this will help bond together new relationships within the community. As well as an alternative place that they could go to with friends or family to spend time together. I will also be visiting sites as for a possible location. I’m seeking to develop my design skills through experimenting with maquette making and etc, for this I may use specific programmes such as the laser cutter, Photoshop and so on. Throughout my research of this project I might run out of sources so I would need to visit exhibitions and libraries in order to gain information as well as for inspiration.

Royal Academy of Arts- Sensing Spaces, Architecture Reimagined

I really liked this exhibition I believe that the architects that participated in the exhibition have all presented a wonderful works of art that interacts with the audience in making them think and explore the space in greater detail. All the architects have worked with an open brief: to explore the potential of architecture, its relevance to people, the connects it evokes, and how these might be conveyed using architectural constructions within Neoclassical galleries of the Royal Academy. All the individual rooms gave me a different feeling and interaction, the room with the bamboo was visually and smell wise very interesting because I've never smelt a bamboo and knew that they smelt so beautiful I felt like I was in the forest; also the maze effect made me wonder whats around that corner and interestingly there were viewing holes which you could see the other side which were placed in a very small room this makes the audience curious and wonder whats inside that space. I was also interested in each and every architects work because they all used different mediums, and to relate this to my own project I will also be looking into designing using wide range of materials. The room with the massive sculpture of colourful drinking straws, which then we were allowed to also contribute to the art work by making our own combinations with straw and attaching it to the whole sculpture it self. Within my own work I think I will use straws as well because I believe that I could make interesting lines with my maquette then this would create interesting viewing points.

Hayward Gallery-Martin Creed,What's the point of it?

Location: women's toilet

This exhibition I found very interesting with colourful masking tapes from one end of the room to another, empty boxes piled on top of each other, canvases with broccoli printed on with each different colours. There was art work every where in the terrace, inside the toilet rooms and inside the rooms inside.

I was very inspired from the balloon room, and decided to sketch out structures based on a balloon outline.

National theatre pavilion

I was drawn to the scale and colour of this pavilion which is a part of the National theatre. Its also got chimneys for ventilation, I like the lines on the facade of the pavilion.
