Paper samples- Day 1

Fashion & Textiles- Week 3

I made initial samples based on the category of structure emphasizing on shape, form and sharpness in order to create a range of textures at the same time also looking into different methods such as: tearing, layering, folding and shapes. 

After creating my initial ideas I then selected a simple design and the made loads in varied sizes with white and brown paper, the challenging part of this task for me was that I kept on getting paper cuts on my hands and arm while crunching the papers into their shapes.

This was a quick task to make a garment on the manikin in a group.

I have been exploring to compose garments onto the manikin using the paper samples to creatively arrange them onto the garment according each given theme, this task was enjoyable because every stand had work of different categories: structure, image and texture.
