Memories within my environment- Day 1

Lens based media- Week 2

 Attachment

From photograph that brings memory to me I have chosen I redrew it again onto an A1 size paper using charcoal which I found using the best with just because I believe that it makes drawing more freely and having the ability to smudge and create different strokes and patterns within the paper. the reason I chose to draw this chain was because of the memories that it brings back of me visiting  the area with my cousin and a friend and also the Design Museum that I've been to. I have specifically focused mainly onto the bottom half of the image purely just because I want to capture the attachments within the chains.
I think I got on well with the task, because I focused on the composition of the chains: light/shade areas, layering and the foreshortening of some chains created from the shooting angle of the camera. I believe that my sketch of the image was successful because the arrangements and sizes of the chains seem similar. From this task I have learned more about sketching an  image from a photograph onto the paper looking at its various compositions, this will be helpful for next time because I could consider other factors such as lines, patterns, direction of the sun, and also the camera angle.

Deconstruction of the photographic image drawing

Using paper I teared paper in to pieces I tried to create new focus points and meanings by covering up some parts of the actual drawing itself.

Exploring the potential of the camera in order to explore the story of a single image

I took photographs from varied angles to show height and depth of the overall image itself. I looked into different compositions again such as symmetrical lines, patterns, shapes, layers and camera angles to express each photograph.
